Candid: Find Your Clarity

Privacy Policy

Effective August 1, 2026

The short version: Candid is designed to keep your conversations private and on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data.

Information you provide

Candid lets you enter conversations, a name, decision preferences, and an optional profile image or emoji. The app may also create insights based on what you write so that future responses can be more relevant to you.

How your information is stored

Your conversations, profile, preferences, inferred insights, and optional profile image are stored locally on your device. Candid does not use an account system, developer-operated server, CloudKit, or another cloud database to store this information.

Apple Intelligence and on-device processing

When available, Candid uses Apple’s Foundation Models framework to classify input, generate responses, and identify potentially useful insights. The current version uses Apple’s on-device system model. Content processed through this model remains on your device. When the model is unavailable, Candid uses locally bundled response logic instead.

Data collection and sharing

Candid does not collect or transmit your conversations, profile information, inferred insights, or profile image to us. We do not:

Photos

If you choose a profile image, Apple’s system photo picker lets you select an image. Candid stores the selected image locally as part of your profile. Candid does not upload it or access the rest of your photo library.

Deleting your information

You control the information stored by Candid. Inside the app, you can remove individual insights, remove insights associated with a conversation, reset all insights, or use “Delete Everything” to erase your conversations and profile data and return to onboarding. Deleting the app also removes its locally stored data from your device.

Apple services and TestFlight

Apple may process limited technical, diagnostic, purchase, or TestFlight information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. That information is handled by Apple, not collected through a Candid-operated service.

Children’s privacy

Candid is not directed specifically to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Candid does not transmit personal information to us, we do not maintain personal data about individual users of any age.

Changes to this policy

If Candid’s data practices change—for example, if a future version introduces optional syncing or an online service—we will update this policy and the privacy disclosures shown in the App Store before those practices take effect.
